DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As an Assistant Finance Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day finance operations of our United Kingdom Business Units. Your key responsibilities will include ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports for UK operations, providing input for monthly P&L forecasts, and contributing to the development of annual budgets as part of the Business Plan. Additionally, you will prepare audited financial statements at the entity level, manage financial communications with JV partners, and ensure compliance with Limits of Authority (LOA) and Joint Operating Agreement (JOA) requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Financial Reporting and Project Accounting:
- Responsible for the timely preparation and review of accurate financial reports.
- Support day-to-day finance and administrative tasks.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly/quarterly reporting, including relevant analytical reviews.
- Manage the close process and submission to Finance for consolidation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and Group policies.
- Provide inputs for quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate submissions to relevant authorities.
- Oversee payments and VAT compliance for project invoices.
JV Management and Cashflow Monitoring:
- Prepare monthly JV billings.
- Raise cash calls to JV partners based on forecasted payment plans.
- Monitor cash flow and flag any concerns.
- Liaise with JV partners regarding any queries related to projects.
Budget Management:
- Review updated budgets on a monthly basis for accurate forecasting.
- Monitor costs and generate weekly/monthly actual spend reports.
- Provide financial updates to aid decision-making.
Internal Controls and Governance:
- Ensure effective internal controls and proper project governance in line with LOA and JOA requirements.
- Participate in LOA reviews.
Contracts and Procurement Support:
- Advise stakeholders on budget availability.
- Monitor budgets through Finance endorsement of Purchase Requisitions.
- Perform commercial evaluations for tender documents.
 Financial Forecasting and Planning:
- Provide input for monthly P&L forecasts.
- Participate in the preparation of annual budgets for the Business Plan.
 Audit and Compliance:
- Prepare audited financial statements at the entity level.
- Manage compliance with financial policies and regulations.Â
- Liaise with external auditors for annual statutory audits and any ad-hoc project audits.
- Coordinate with internal auditors for internal audit exercises and supervise the implementation of action points.Â
Ad-Hoc Responsibilities:
- Handle other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer and/or Senior Finance Manager to support the Finance Department’s objectives.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualifications are preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in auditing and/or accounting, including at least three (3) years in auditing.
- Well verse with MFRS/IFRS accounting and statutory financial statements requirements
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and tight deadlines.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of SUN system and experience in the oil and gas industry are preferred
- Additional skills considered beneficial:
- Experience in JV accounting and group financial reporting.
- Experience with KLSE (Bursa) reporting.
