On 14 June 2024, Hibiscus Petroleum Berhad, through its subsidiary Simpor Hibiscus Sdn Bhd, successfully completed the acquisition of a 37.5% operated interest in the Maharajalela Jamalulalam (MLJ) field offshore Brunei.
The MLJ field, a producing gas asset located in a prolific hydrocarbon region, adds a significant gas component to our portfolio and supports our strategic focus on energy transition. This acquisition is expected to boost the Group’s production volumes and reserves while enhancing our technical and operational capabilities.
With this addition, Hibiscus Petroleum continues to strengthen its position as a leading independent upstream oil and gas player in the region.
